What will I need to set up a website for my business and how much will it cost?
- A domain name, eg. www.yourcompany.com ~ approx. cost £3 - £10 per year
- A website with a minimum of 2 pages ~ design and build from £350
- Hosting space for your website ~ starting from £60 per year for a small site, up to £350 per year for a busy e-commerce website.
- Email addresses ~ included in the hosting package.
- Search engine optimisation ~ if you want your website to be found in the search engines (see below).
Once my new website is online, will it be found in the search engines?
You will need to submit your website to the major search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN). We can do this for you for £25. Once your site has been submitted, you have to wait for the search engines to index your site. This means that the search engine has visited your site and is available to be included in the search results.
Once my website has been indexed, will it automatically show up in the search results fro my key phrases?
That depends entirely on the amount of competition there is for those keywords. If you are providing a service in your local area and there are not many people with websites offering the same service, you stand a good chance of your site showing up on the first page of the search results.
However much competition there is for your keywords and key phrases, you will need to have a website that has been optimised for those words or phrases. We can advise you on this before we build your website.
Why are your prices much lower than many other web design companies?
Quite simply we believe it is important to strike a balance between earning a good living and helping our clients to do the same - also it helps us to sleep at night! Many of our new clients come from recommendations from existing clients. Knowing that our clients are happy with what we provide is important to us - more important than making money.
If I pay less for my website, will it still be of a high quality?
Please take a look at some of the sites in our portfolio and judge for yourself. We started out in business with very little money. We know what it's like. Many people setting up in business do not have limitless funds to spend on advertising their products and services. That's why we try to make our websites affordable. We all know the phrase "you get what you pay for", but that doesn't mean you have to settle for shoddy workmanship just because you have a limited marketing budget.
Where are you based?
Matrix23 is run by Rob Butler. Rob is based in Marlborough, Wiltshire. Although we have clients throughout the UK, many of our clients like to know that their site is being built by someone who is based locally and has local knowledge.
