We used to provide a comprehensive list of all our SEO successes but that has become so time-consuming that we have had to scale it down somewhat. Top Ten Search Engine Rankings

The table below lists search results in Google only, Google being the most popular search engine by far. It usually follows that optimising for Google also brings good results with other search engines as well (this is not always the case as each search engine uses its own method of working out rankings).

The right hand column shows the average number of results returned for that search phrase in Google (the higher the number the more competition there is for that phrase).

*We regularly monitor the rankings of more than 60 search phrases for ascolights.co.uk, at least 30 of which show up in the top ten results, of which 20 are in the top 5. The importance of a top 5 ranking is that it shows up 'above the fold', i.e. it shows up without having to scroll down the page. Statistics show that many people will not look at websites that appear below the fold in the search results.

It is easy to claim to have achieved top ten search engine rankings for scores of search phrases, but unless those phrases are phrases that people will actually use to search by, such claims are meaningless. All of the keyword phrases mentioned above were either specified by the client or are search phrases that people actually use. We know these are search phrases that people actually use by regularly checking the webstats for that particular site.
