Actinic Upgrades & Makeovers

If you are an existing Actinic user there are a variety of options available to improve the look, feel and functionality of your site.

For anyone currently using Actinic v8, Actinic v9, Actinic V10 or Actinic V11:

  • makeover / redesign - periodically updating the design of your site can be a good way of putting new life into an old store. I can do anything from minor alterations to a complete site redesign.
  • add functionality - Actinic version 11 has a number of useful features that can be added to a site to improve sales and improve ease-of-use. Best Sellers Lists, Also Bought Lists, Related Products and New Products Lists can all be used to boost sales and help your customers find what they want as quickly and easily as possible. V11 also has improved stock control and customer account creation functionality.

Upgrading your Actinic site from v9 or V10 to v11

Although Actinic version 11 does not offer a huge amount that is new in the way of functionality, it is generally considered to be more stable than previous versions. Uploads with V11 seem quicker and it does generally seem to perform better than older versions such as V9.

Upgrading your Actinic site from V7 to V11

Most sites built with Actinic version 7 can be upgraded to version 11 with relative ease. If your site has been heavily customised in terms of design or functionality then there may be a few issues to address. Sometimes errors occur when importing a version 7 snapshot into the version 11 software - I have successfully updated a number of version 7 sites to newer versions, some of which had few or no errors and some of which had hundreds of errors that needed to be fixed.

Upgrading from earlier versions of Actinic

If you are using version 6 the same applies as for version7 - just send us a snapshot and I'll take it from there. If you are using an older version of the software (v4 or v5 for example) I will not be able to import a snapshot. The only way to upgrade is to install v11 on the same computer that currently has the earlier version of Actinic installed and select the 'upgrade' when the installation begins.
